Jumped In: Corey San Agustin

Corey San Agustin
Well, very excited over here to introduce and Jump In Corey San Agustin to the CSK California Division.

It's been a long time coming and along time in the works. I actually sent him some interview questions, then visited Long Beach, then had him hold off on answering so that I could readdress some necessary topics.

I talked with Corey real briefly at last year's Red Bull event and have been bothering him off and on via the internet since. With two trips to Long Beach I've been able to get to know what all he is about and spend a good few hours riding along side him. His riding can range from some mellow mini shred to massive within minutes and is spiked with a punch of creativity. That's what I enjoy most about watching him shred, you never know what's coming next. Lots and lots of tuck no nos, and crazy pedal slide combos! Plus, he throws a mean wheelie 180.

Jazzed to officially welcome him to the family. Enjoy getting to know him.

Preface: Ight I'm gonna answer the questions one by one since I'm doing this shit from by my iPhone so it makes it hard to type long shit and read your questions. Corey responded to this whole interview via iPhone. Now that's paper.

First off My name is Corey "pissy or piss dog" San Agustin

I would like to thank my sponsors All City, City Grounds, and Machete Bikes. Also thanks to Kengo from Phoenix for hooking it up with straps and Vinnie from unknown for hooking it up with a stem and anything else I needed to get my bike rolling.

CSK: I’m sure you tired of answering questions about it but, are you all healed up from your Austin Incident? Any regrets about that second try?
COREY: Yeah I'm completely healed up now, it took like 2 months before I was able to ride comfortably again. Of course I regret the second attempt, it costed me thousands of dollars and ruined my Texas trip, but I'm thankful it wasn't worse.

You built up a new bike a bit a go (if you have a picture that would be great to include!), tell us about how switching to 26’s and negative bottom bracket changed your life? And you’re running 3 pegs!?
Yeah i built up an all city airwolf and honestly it hasn't changed my riding style that much. The main reason for the switch was I got bored of my riding style and wanted to try something new. But I still think I'm more comfortable on 700's so this switch may not be permanent.

Does this mean you are going to start throwing barspins again?
I've tried a few and it just doesn't seem like something i'll have dialed in perfectly. Theirs so many young kids who can bar off big sets now, that i'll just leave that up to them, while i fuck around on techy jib shit.

Whatever happened to Fixed Cult? Pegless with BB Drop

Who is K Dagger Birdie and how did you get hooked up with Machete?
I honestly don't remember how me and K Birdie first talked, I'm pretty sure it started over a year ago with a facebook message talking about our 29'rs. I was always a fan of the charmer and k birdie was a fan of my riding. We instantly connected and after months of random facebook messages K Birdie told me he was going to start a parts company and the first product was going to be a 4 piece bar. I was instantly down to support and test out the bars and 6 months later he sent some my way for myself and Antonyo to test out. The bars are great and I'm stoked to be representing Machete Bikes.

You’re still in school, right? What are you studying? Any plans for when you finish?
This is my third year at CSULB and I'm studying business management. I haven't planned anything yet for after school but I'm sure I'll figure something out in the next year or two.

How many backflips are going to be thrown at Red Bull this year?
3 backflips 1 frontflip

Long Beach has a handful of spots, if you had to pick one to ride for an entire week straight, 8 hours a day, what would it be and why?
The two long ledges at the performing arts center. They're slippery as fuck and long enough to create endless combos. I could easily ride they're a week straight and probably still have fun.

What would you have done if you actually got zip tied to that light pole that one night?
KILLED ANTONYO

Any projects in the works or shout outs you need to make?
Shout out to Matt or wolfdrawn for filming and editing pretty much any edit I'm in.

Presta or Schrader?
Whichever is free, I'm currently running both.

What is the most personal thing that you are willing to admit?
I have an OK cupid and I got the nickname pissy after getting white girl wasted and throwing up and pissing all over Steven Jensen's apartment in Arizona.

How Corey Reps CSK

To you, what does CSK represent?
SEXY ass motherfuckers, riding big stupid bikes, having a good time, collared shirt or not.

Do you have any questions for me?
Ever since your fixie factory visit you've been going ham on instagram. Why did you have an iphone before if you didnt have instagram? How much better is your life on a scale from 1 to 10 now since you have an instagram?
Instagram was one of the top motivators for the switch. Before my trip though I didn't really get what it was all about. Plus I didn't know how to set it up. But now I see the light. It's got all the best things of twitter, pictures. What!? No but really, I actually had a conversation about this the other day. Life's intensity has definitely been upped since I got down.

Whats your favorite collared shirt you own? pics?
Had it for 8 years and don't ride in it for concern of messing it up
